Mark A. Vegh

Mark A. Vegh has more than 30 years’ experience representing and counseling employers in all employment and labor law issues. His clients include businesses with one employee, Fortune 500 corporations, and all types of companies in between, both private and public. Companies with employment law issues require a legal partner with knowledge of the continually expanding California and federal laws. Mr. Vegh has vast knowledge of employers’ legal requirements. Employment law solutions are uniquely practical. Mr. Vegh has decades of experience resolving legal disputes inside and outside of the courtroom.

Experience

Mr. Vegh advises and represents employers on all employment and labor laws, including wage issues, disabilities accommodation, whistleblower and retaliation issues, workplace discrimination and harassment, wrongful termination, mandated leaves of absence, workplace privacy, drug and alcohol testing, confidential information and trade secrets, layoffs and business reorganizations, labor relations and collective bargaining, and hiring and disciplinary issues.

Mr. Vegh has successfully litigated and tried hundreds of jury and court trials, hearings and arbitrations for employers. He conducts presentations and lectures extensively on employment and labor laws, and has presented more than 1,000 seminars and training sessions for employers in several states.

For over 10 years Mr. Vegh has also been a highly-rated adjunct professor teaching college courses in law and human resources management.

Education

Mr. Vegh obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Finance, wiht High Honors, from Oregon State University. He subsequently received his Juris Doctor Degree from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

Activities

Mr. Vegh has been admitted to practice law in California, Oregon (currently inactive) and Washington (currently inactive), and is a member of the California Bar Labor and Employment Law Section.

He has held many leadership positions in the community, including the Shasta-Trinity Counties Bar Association, Redding Chamber of Commerce, Society for Human Resource Management, North Valley Employer Advisory Council, Shasta Regional Community Foundation, Youth Peer Court, and Redding West Rotary.

Mr. Vegh has authored many employment law publications and articles, including The California Employer Manual to Workplace Harassment;The California Employer Manual to Employee Leaves of Absence; The California Employer Manual to Conducting Human Resource Audits; Wage and Hour Issues; Discrimination in Employment; The Law of Wrongful Discharge; Affect of Other Federal and State Laws and Regulations on the ADA; and A Manager’s Guide to the Family and Medical Leave Act.
